Rules
- Men capture forward only; there is no backward capture.
- The king (reina) flies along diagonals.
- The move capturing the most pieces is compulsory; ties prefer chains that include kings.
- The board uses the rotated Italian-style orientation.
About the game
Historically important as the first family to adopt the long-range flying queen ('reina') in the 16th century — an idea that later shaped international draughts. Classic Spanish endgame treatises are among the oldest draughts literature.
